Piaggio has also been using brake pumps from the Asian manufacturer HengTong since Grimeca's delivery problems. These are cheaper than their Italian counterparts, but unfortunately no accessory levers and covers from e.g. Grand Sport.
Here is an overview of the force applied to the brake piston when combining different calipers and pump combinations.
In general, if the slave pistons are enlarged while the master pistons remain the same, there is always an increase in the braking force, although the lever travel is longer.
On the other hand, if a brake pump with a larger piston but the same brake calliper is installed, a decrease in the force applied to the brake pistons can be assumed, although the lever travel is smaller. Thus the brake becomes more direct, but requires more lever force for the same brake performance.
